Gathering 2012
On Saturday 22 September, the folks pictured on the Home page assembled in the Community Hall at Kyleakin on Skye.
We had a great time. Some meeting for the first time. Ken & Dana from Australia were the furthest travelled, and many came up from England.
Most of those attending were (or married to) descendants of Angus & Morag MacPherson, The Cliffe, Kyleakin. Other cousins were descendants of Angus's brother John, who was associated with Largs, Ayrshire.
The hall was set out with about 20 tables on which the different families could assemble their collections of family memorablia. In total, there was a considerable volume of various material......photographs, paintings, medals, family 'trees', letters and other documents.
The adults enjoyed a good chat, while the children were well entertained and able to enjoy the pleasant September weather by playing outside.
Although the gathering lasted many hours, the time went all too quickly and many reconvened to continue the following day; some paying their respects to deceased family members at the burial ground at Lower Breakish.
